The 2018 International Conference on Teaching and Researching EFL Writing

Hosted by Nanjing University, China 

(OCT 12-15, 2018)

The 2018 International Conference on Teaching and Researching EFL Writing will be organized by Nanjing University on October 12-15, 2018. The Conference Organizing Committee seeks proposals for Paper presentations that address various topics within the broad field of second language writing.

Any topic related to second language writing theory, research, or teaching is welcome. The conference theme is “Identity in Second Language Writing.” We encourage proposals that address issues related to writer identity, writing teacher identity, as well as the field identity of second language writing.

Important Dates

Conference time: October 12-15, 2018 (Oct 12 for registration and pre-conference workshops; Oct 13-14 for presentations; Oct 15 for departure)

Announcement of call for papers: May 25, 2017

Proposal submission deadline: May 30, 2018 (international participants only)

Notification of abstract acceptance: June 25, 2018

Conference Theme

Theme: Identity in Second Language Writing

Potential topics could include, but are by no means limited to:

  • Literacy as identity in L2 writing

  • Disciplinary identity and interaction

  • Voice development in L2 writing

  • Identity and L2 writing teacher development

  • Identity and L2 writing feedback/assessment

  • Identity and EAP/ESP

  • Identity and language/genre development in L2 writing

  • Writer identity construction in sociocultural contexts

  • Identity and L2 writing pedagogy

  • Identity research from inter-/multiple disciplinary perspectives

Conference Fee

Standard: US$ 170 (or 1,200 RMB)

Full-time graduate student*: US$ 85 (or 600 RMB)

*If you register as a student, you will need to show your student ID card which can verify your full-time 2018 enrollment as a graduate student.

 

Payment Method

  • A payment account will be provided for the attendee after collection of related information, e.g., attendee's name, title of invoice, and taxpayer's registration number. 

  • Invoice will be provided after payment. 

  • Payment should be made individually by the attendee.


Types of payment:

1. Online payment: Online payment (RMB transaction only, through online payment of China's popular banks or Alipay)

2. On-site payment: UnionPay card swiping through the POS terminal (VISA card is not supported. Prepare cash (RMB) if you do not have a UnionPay card.)


Refund policy: Payment is non-refundable and registration is not transferable to other parties.
